I had the excitement of getting to see quite a few bumblebees in my garden today, which to say the least needs some work doing to it! I was going to start de-weeding but seeing all the cute little bumblebees getting pollen from the weeds I was about to pull I decided it was best to leave them there till I can replace them with some bee friendly flowers.
Bumblebee Facts -
Bumblebees have smelly feet - This is to let other bumblebees know they have already taken the pollen from the plant so there will be little left.
Bumblebees never swarm.
They only produce a small amount of honey - just enough to feed their young ones.
Bumblebees don't usually sting unless they feel threatened.
Bumblebees do not lose their stinger after use.
Pesticides pose a serious threat to the existence of bumblebees.
Bumblebee Friendly Flowers - Planting just one or two of these will help bumblebees greatly.
